Done in a Meeting

In September 1999, the Junior League of Lansing (JLL) began collecting items during their monthly general membership meetings to benefit organizations in the community in need of donations. This has become an important and significant way of furthering our Mission and helping those in need.

This year, we again will collect items for distribution to the following community projects:

  • September: Habitat for Humanity - Please bring: money, checks written to Habitat for Humanity Capital Region preferred to cash

  • October: City Rescue Mission - Please bring: Women’s new underwear sizes 7, 8 and 9, Men’s new boxers size Large, Men’s new undershirts size 2x and up, or Hair brushes

  • November: Haven House - Please bring: Shampoo, Conditioner, Toothpaste, Bathroom cleaners, or small size laundry detergent

  • January: Greater Lansing Food Bank- Please bring: Peanut Butter, Jelly, canned tomatoes, Mac & Cheese, canned meat and fish, whole wheat pastas and/or rice

  • February: Volunteers of America - Please bring: twin size sheets and blankets, bath towels, disposable razor multi-packs, men’s deodorant, or men’s and women’s socks

  • March: Allen Street Market - Please bring: Money

  • April: MSU Safe Place - Please bring: CATA bus tokens or passes, paper towel, Kleenex, toilet paper, cleaning and/or  laundry supplies

  • May: Homeless Angels - Please bring: Diapers sizes 4, 5 & 6
